The timing is sure in Fairmont Heights' favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Central has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Fairmont Heights on the road against College Park Academy as the team secured a 72-42 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-16.
Fairmont Heights' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amari Brice-Johnson, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brice-Johnson has scored at least 25% of Fairmont Heights' points. Another player making a difference was Zion McQueen, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 85-49, which was the final score in Central's tilt against Douglass on Tuesday. Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-19.
Fairmont Heights' victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Central, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
