Palmetto and Ferguson are an even 4-4-1 against one another since March of 2020, but likely not for long. The Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Palmetto will be strutting in after a win while Ferguson will be coming in after a defeat.
Palmetto's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Dr. Krop 12-0. That looming 12-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this season.

Ethan Fraginals was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other pitching news, Fernando Gutierrez looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Palmetto is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-8 otherwise.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Christian Dixon, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Zanel Rosario also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Palmetto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Ferguson fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against iMater Charter on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 4-3.
Jose Rijo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Ferguson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jio Muguercia, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Palmetto is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Ferguson, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-11.
Palmetto couldn't quite get it done against Ferguson when the teams last played back in March of 2025 as they fell 10-6. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
