The Trenton Tigers and the Tolar Rattlers squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Trenton Tigers had to settle for second. Trenton took a serious blow against Tolar, falling 57-12. While losing is never fun, Trenton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1051st, while Tolar is ranked 209th).
Tolar got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Garrison Nation out in front who rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns. Nation was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Blessing, who threw for 65 yards and two touchdowns on only five passes.
Trenton has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Tolar, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Trenton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tolar will face off against Cayuga at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th.
