On Tuesday, Averill Park was able to grind out a solid win over Ballston Spa, taking the game 5-1.
Ellie Lindow spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.
At the plate, Abigail Colwill was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last ten games. Another player making a difference was Anna Cronin, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Averill Park hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, while it was Colonie Central who put the first runs on the board on Thursday, it was Saratoga Springs who put up more. The Wolfpack fell just short of the Blue Streaks by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wolfpack have suffered since April 9th.
Annalisa Checksfield was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
Averill Park's record now sits at 13-3. As for Colonie Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Colonie Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Averill Park hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. It's a different story for Colonie Central, though, as they've only averaged .228. Will they be able to contain Averill Park's hitters?
Averill Park couldn't quite finish off Colonie Central in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 and fell 3-1. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
