The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Pippa Gerharz and Gabrielle Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Gerharz got on base in six of her seven plate appearances with four runs and four RBI, while Smith got on base in six of her seven plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one double. What's more, Smith posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Melissa Solis, who got on base in five of her seven plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Senn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
With the victory, Senn broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-6. As for Von Steuben, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.
