Newberry gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. Everything went their way against the University Christian Christians as the Newberry Panthers made off with a 44-20 win. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 41-26 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Kaleb Woods was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also picked up 30 receiving yards and a touchdown.
