They enjoyed a cozy 48-31 win over Parkview Christian on Tuesday. For Brownell Talbot, this counts as revenge for the 38-32 defeat Parkview Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Leading Brownell Talbot to victory were Abbi Gibbs and Avery Nichols. Gibbs dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Nichols scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gibbs has scored at least a third of Brownell Talbot's points. Another player making a difference was Nya Ping, who scored seven points.
Despite the loss, Parkview Christian still got an impressive performance from Merryl Paul, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Brownell Talbot's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Parkview Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.
Brownell Talbot will face off against College View Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (College View Academy is ranked 249th, while Brownell Talbot is ranked 250th). As for Parkview Christian, they will square off against Cedar Bluffs at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cedar Bluffs will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
