Cornerstone Prep Academy lost 3-0 to Dominion Christian last Tuesday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-14, 25-22.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Georgia-Cumberland Academy challenged Unity Christian on Tuesday. The Jaguars fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Georgia-Cumberland Academy sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 26-28, 25-23, 18-25, 15-12.
Cornerstone Prep Academy will have to keep a close watch on Bela Barbosa and Ava Reese, a pair of players who had a big impact on Georgia-Cumberland Academy's prior game. Barbosa had 29 digs, nine kills, and one block, while Reese had 24 digs and three blocks. Milly Crecelius was another key player, getting 16 digs, six kills, and two blocks.
Georgia-Cumberland Academy now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Cornerstone Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
