They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Greenbrier East Spartans. The win was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on six straight.
Landon Meadows was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryson Casto, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.
Ripley's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 8.6 runs this season. As for Greenbrier East, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
