Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Happy Cowboys, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 32-16 bruising from the Wildcats on Friday. Happy's defeat signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.
Westbrook was led to victory by Grayson Jeffrey and Keegan Gilbreath. Jeffrey rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns, while Gilbreath rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown. Gilbreath has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last four times he's played.
Happy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Westbrook, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1.
Happy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westbrook will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Gordon at 11:00 a.m. on December 13th. Gordon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 matchups -- so hopefully Westbrook likes a good challenge.
