The Linn County Mustangs lost against the Green City Gophers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Linn County had to suffer through a rough 58-24 loss at the hands of Green City. Linn County has struggled against Green City recently, as their game on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Green City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hailey Herschberger, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Herschberger also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Britney Jeffries, who scored 12 points.
Linn County's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Green City, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Linn County will take on Milan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Linn County is coming into the contest with 11 straight losses on the road, meaning Milan will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Green City, they will challenge La Plata at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
