Baseball Recap: Galesburg Drops Highest Score of Season Against Alleman

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Galesburg). They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Alleman Pioneers on Wednesday. The Silver Streaks not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 13, 2024 (when they won 16-3).

The team relied heavily on Hayden Ralston, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Jameson Dickerson was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Galesburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Galesburg's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-12. As for Alleman, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Coming up, Galesburg will square off against Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Alleman, they will take on Illini West at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Pioneers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
