Aledo (Texas) snapped
Southwest (Fort Worth, Texas)'s 4-game winning streak, with a 24-8 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Caleb Frysinger touchdown run in the second quarter, the Bearcats led 10-0 at the half.
Aledo expanded its lead to 24 points entering the fourth quarter. AHS scored two times in the third, including once on a
Daythan Davis touchdown run.
With the win the Bearcats extended their winning streak to six games. Aledo defeated the Cougars 56-0 last week.
AHS's most effective player was
Chance Nevarez. The junior kicked one field goal and three extra points.
The Raiders' lone touchdown came on a 76-yard pass in the fourth quarter.
The Bearcats came into the game allowing 10.0 points per game.
The loss comes after Southwest defeated Granbury 42-24 last week.
Aledo (7-1) goes up against Granbury in a 4A Region I District 7 game matchup next week, while Southwest (6-2) locks horns with Arlington Heights also in a 4A Region I District 7 game.
