Volleyball Recap: Community School of Naples Falls Despite Big Games from Mia Ringhofer and Claire Byerly

Community School of Naples suffered their biggest loss since September 12, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against the First Baptist Academy Lions, falling 3-0. If the Seahawks were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Lions when the teams met back in September of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Community School of Naples was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-15, 25-14.

Despite the defeat, Community School of Naples had strong showings from Claire Byerly, who had 14 digs and one assist, and Mia Ringhofer, who had eight kills and four digs. Ringhofer is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least six every time she's taken the court this season.

First Baptist Academy can attribute much of their success to Laila Stewart, who had 12 digs and seven assists. That's the most digs Stewart has posted since back in October of 2024.

Community School of Naples' loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for First Baptist Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Community School of Naples didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Gulf Coast on the 2nd. As for First Baptist Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Palmetto Ridge on the 2nd.
