The Celina Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Crestview Knights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Celina's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Crestview's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Friday, Celina needed a bit of extra time to put away Defiance. They won by a run and slipped past Defiance 4-3. The victory was nothing new for Celina as they're now sitting on three straight.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crestview). They blew past Fairview 15-8 on Friday. With that win, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
Emily Heth was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Heth was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Crestview got a massive performance out of Violet Dirr, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave Dirr a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Thornell, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI.
Crestview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Celina's record is now 7-1. As for Crestview, their record now sits at 2-5.
Everything went Celina's way against Crestview in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Celina made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
