The Lake Washington Kangaroos will head out on the road to face off against the Juanita Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Lake Washington was the victim of a rough 42-21 loss at the hands of Bellevue. While losing is never fun, Lake Washington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Bellevue is ranked 17th).
Despite the loss, Lake Washington had strong showings from Noah Williams, who rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns, and Ronin Holmes, who rushed for 86 yards on only eight carries. Holmes was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards.
Meanwhile, Juanita ended up a good deal behind Newport - Bellevue on Friday and lost 28-10. Juanita has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lake Washington now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Juanita, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Lake Washington took their win against Juanita in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 41-17. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Washington since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
