Whitesboro is 8-2 against Pilot Point since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Whitesboro will head out on the road to challenge Pilot Point at 5:00 p.m. Whitesboro's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Pilot Point's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Two weeks ago, Whitesboro made easy work of Valley View and carried off a 14-4 win. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by six runs or more this season.

Avery Howerton made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and five runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those five runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaydence Thomas, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cameron Ortiz, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Whitesboro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are 10-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Pilot Point faced off against Paradise on Friday. The Bearcats lost 8-1 to the Panthers. The loss continues a trend for the Bearcats in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.
Whitesboro has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Pilot Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7-1.
Whitesboro got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Pilot Point by a conclusive 17-0 score. Does Whitesboro have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pilot Point turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
