Coeur du Christ Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jon Denke out in front who rushed for 235 yards on only 13 carries. Denke's longest rush was for an incredible 84 yards. Greg Hayes also helped out with an impressive 186 receiving yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Coeur du Christ Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 283 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Wallace humbled Clark Fork with a 58-22 victory. The victory continues a trend for the Miners in their matchups with the Wampus Cats: they've now won four in a row.
Coeur du Christ Academy better focus on containing Henry Larson and Lennox Radford as the pair were huge in Wallace's win. Larson gained 178 total yards and three touchdowns, while Radford picked up 175 receiving yards and one score. Larson also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making nine total tackles.
Wallace didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Reece Williams and Simon Sodbat. Another thorn in Clark Fork's side was Marley Pearce, who made 15 total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Coeur du Christ Academy's record now sits at 5-1. As for Wallace, their record is now 6-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Coeur du Christ Academy has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 177 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Wallace struggles in that department as they've been averaging 280.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Coeur du Christ Academy lost to Wallace on the road by a decisive 50-36 margin in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Miners' Miller, who rushed for 335 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 14.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 80 yards and one TD.
