Poplar Bluff hadn't done well against Central recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Mules' defense stepped up to hand the Tigers a 4-0 shutout. Considering Poplar Bluff have won seven matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Poplar Bluff's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-10. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those three matchups. As for Central, with the defeat, they broke their six-match winning streak and moved their record to 10-7.

Looking ahead, Poplar Bluff will be playing at home against Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
