Baseball Game Preview: Lipan Indians vs. Hico Tigers

The Lipan Indians will head out on the road to challenge the Hico Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lipan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.

Lipan's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Santo. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Chris Collins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Evan Lott was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Brayden Harrison was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

Lipan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Hico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of Graford.

Lipan's record is now 15-5. As for Hico, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9-1.

Everything went Lipan's way against Hico in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Lipan made off with a 10-0 victory. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
