Northern Guilford (Greensboro, N.C.) snapped Southern Guilford (Greensboro, N.C.)'s 8-game winning streak, with a 49-14 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
T.J. Logan in the second quarter, the Nighthawks led 21-7 at the half.
Northern Guilford expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. NG scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Logan.
The Storm's Reggie Gallaspy played well. The sophomore running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 20 touchdowns on the season.
The Nighthawks' standout player in the win was Logan. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 42 touchdowns on the season.
Northern Guilford came into the game allowing 5.3 points per game. Southern Guilford's 14 points were well below its season average of 44.8 per game. SG came in allowing just 13.9 points per game this season. The Storm struggled against NG's offense, which entered the game scoring 38.5 points per game.
The loss comes after Southern Guilford defeated Overhills 35-14 last week.
