Taverick Roberson of St. Joseph Central ran for the longest rushing play in Berkshires this season against Lee/Lenox Memorial last week. Roberson's team bested the Wildcats as he sprinted for 61 yards on the play and finished with 220 in all.
Mt. Greylock Regional extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Drury, 20-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
St. Joseph Central's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jon Bianchi threw for 15 yards and Roberson had 15 yards receiving.
St. Joseph Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Crusaders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Bianchi has thrown for 328 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Lavante Wiggins has eight catches for 115 yards. Wiggins leads the league in rushing with 685 yards.
Two of the top units in Berkshires will face off this week when Gary Bianchi's team takes on Mt. Greylock Regional. The Crusaders' offense has recorded 160 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Shawn Flaherty's team has permitted only 36 on the year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when St. Joseph Central takes on the Mounties. The Crusaders have allowed 56 points this season, while Mt. Greylock Regional has given up 36. St. Joseph Central allowed 14 points last week as it defeated Lee/Lenox Memorial.
The Crusaders took down Keith Thomson's team 48-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Roberson in the win.
