The Lassiter Trojans had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They escaped with a win against Pope by the margin of a single free throw,  47-46. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lassiter also won the last time the pair played  back in December of 2023.
 Lassiter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Claire Mackenny, who  scored 14 points along with eight  rebounds and two  blocks.  Kenzie Wyman was another key contributor,  scoring 14 points.
 Lassiter has  been performing  well recently as they've  won 11 of their last 14 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Pope, their loss  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 16-7.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lassiter's road trip will continue as they head out to face Johns Creek at 6:00  p.m.  on January 30th. The timing isn't great for Johns Creek: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Lassiter has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for Pope, they will  face off against Roswell at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday.
