Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Regents Knights walked away with it. They blew past The Woodlands Christian Academy 45-7 at home. The result was nothing new for Regents, who have now won nine matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.
Regents' win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Quinn Murphy, who threw for 149 yards and four touchdowns on only ten passes. Hudson Powell was another key contributor, picking up 94 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The win was the eighth in a row for Regents, bringing their record for this year to 10-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-11 St. Anthony and 3-8 The Woodlands Christian Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37% over those games). As for The Woodlands Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Regents will take on Fort Bend Christian Academy at TBD on Saturday. Fort Bend Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Regents likes a good challenge. The Woodlands Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
