The Pioneer Valley Regional Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Frontier Regional Red Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pioneer Valley Regional is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Monday, Pioneer Valley Regional made easy work of Monson and carried off a 9-1 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.
Evan Tsipenyuk spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Mauthe, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Werner, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pioneer Valley Regional kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Frontier Regional made easy work of Ludlow on Monday and carried off an 8-2 win. That's two games straight that the Red Hawks have won by exactly six runs.
Frontier Regional also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Max Skribiski-Banack gave up two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits.
On the hitting side, Frontier Regional got a massive performance out of Henry Drinker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Braiden Dion also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Pioneer Valley Regional's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Frontier Regional, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.
Pioneer Valley Regional was able to grind out a solid win over Frontier Regional in their previous meeting on April 10th, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
