White Pine and Lake Mead Academy are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The White Pine Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Lake Mead Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
White Pine can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They managed a 26-22 win over GV Christian. The victory was just what White Pine needed coming off of a 48-6 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Lake Mead Academy entered their tilt with Needles with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Lake Mead Academy simply couldn't be stopped two weeks ago as they easily beat Needles 45-14 on the road. The result was nothing new for Lake Mead Academy, who have now won seven matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.
Jerry Meyer iii continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 346 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per attempt. Meyer iii is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last eight games he's played. Bowe Farmer also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
White Pine's win bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Lake Mead Academy, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-1.
White Pine took a serious blow against Lake Mead Academy when the teams last played back in October, falling 70-0. Can White Pine avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
