The Plainfield Cardinals won the last time they faced the Franklin Warriors, and things went their way on Saturday too. Plainfield took their game at home with ease, bagging a 41-7 win over Franklin. The result was nothing new for Plainfield, who have now won five matches by 28 points or more so far this season.
Leading Plainfield to victory were Al-Khabir Bethune and Ala-Meen Watkins. Bethune picked up 144 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Watkins threw for 211 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes. Joel Cordoba did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 100 receiving yards.
Plainfield has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Franklin, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Plainfield will be playing at home against West Orange at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
