Mercer Island is 1-9 against Juanita since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Mercer Island Islanders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Juanita Ravens at 7:15 p.m. Juanita took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mercer Island, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Mercer Island was able to grind out a solid victory over Inglemoor, taking the game 58-51. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mercer Island.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mercer Island to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elianna Weiss, who scored 16 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Weiss has scored at least 25% of Mercer Island's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlin Monahan, who scored 10 points along with 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Juanita was the victim of a tough 61-39 loss at the hands of Lake Washington on Friday.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Mercer Island's win pushed their record up to 2-0, while Inglemoor's defeat dropped theirs down to 0-2.
Mercer Island came up short against Juanita in their previous meeting back in February, falling 66-62. Thankfully for Mercer Island, Joy Haltom (who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 22 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
