Middleton is 0-3 against Rocky Mountain since August of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Vikings will host the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. Middleton's defense has only allowed 12.5 points per game this season, so Rocky Mountain's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Middleton is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Timberline, who was ranked sixth at the time (Middleton was ranked 11th). The Vikings took down the Wolves 26-12 on Thursday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

09/26/25 @ Meridian | 3 |
Jake Perez had a dynamite game, rushing for 216 yards and three touchdowns. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 109.5 rushing yards per game.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rocky Mountain). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 69-0 victory over Meridian. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Grizzlies had established a 56-point advantage.
Middleton better focus on containing Tyke Harper and Kaelan Custer as the pair were huge in Rocky Mountain's win. Harper rushed for 107 yards and three scores on only 13 carries, while Custer rushed for 116 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries. Another player making a difference was Rasean Jones, who rushed for 60 yards and one touchdown.
Rocky Mountain's run defense was locked in: Meridian could only muster zero yards per carry. The team can thank Luke Abernathey for the heroic effort on defense: he. Rocky Mountain didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.8.
Rocky Mountain didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Parker Careaga and Caleb Cleverley. Careaga is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last three games he's played. Rocky Mountain got some further help from Abernathey: he picked up two sacks and made nine total tackles.
Rocky Mountain's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Middleton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Middleton was dealt a bruising 46-17 defeat at the hands of Rocky Mountain when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Vikings, Austin Rovig (who threw for 365 yards and five TDs while completing 78.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 30 yards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
