The Hillsboro Burros scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Hunters Lane 73-32 at home. The win was nothing new for Hillsboro as they're now sitting on five straight.
Hillsboro was led to victory by Xavier Washington and Arnez Anderson. Washington scored 17 points along with five rebounds, while Anderson scored 21 points along with five assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. Cortez Graham-Howard was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Hunters Lane's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of James Davis, who scored eight points, and Amarien Kelly who scored six points.
Hillsboro's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Hunters Lane, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillsboro will take on East Nashville Magnet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. East Nashville Magnet will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Hillsboro is ranked 17th). As for Hunters Lane, they will be playing at home against McGavock at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McGavock is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
