In what's become a running theme this season, the Navajo Prep Eagles gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They blew past Wingate 73-15 at home. The victory was familiar territory for Navajo Prep who now have five in a row.
Navajo Prep had a senior duo take command as Tylen Morris scored 17 points and Orion King dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Morris has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jude Thomas, who scored 11 points along with six assists and three steals.
Navajo Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Wingate, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Navajo Prep will challenge Crownpoint at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crownpoint will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Mexico Rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Navajo Prep is ranked 19th). As for Wingate, they will head out on the road to square off against Tohatchi at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Tohatchi's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Wingate has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
