They were the victim of a rough 62-40 loss at the hands of Christ Church Episcopal. While losing is never fun, Southside Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Christ Church Episcopal is ranked 35th).
Southside Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Josh Hennum, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zane Hagy, who scored 11 points.
D.j. Harvey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Christ Church Episcopal, scoring 18 points. Jonathan Perry was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Southside Christian has not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Christ Church Episcopal, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-5.
Southside Christian will head out on the road to take on North at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in North's favor as the team sits on 11 straight wins at home while Southside Christian has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Christ Church Episcopal will take on Hunter-Kinard-Tyler at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Christ Church Episcopal is coming into the contest with five straight victories at home, so Hunter-Kinard-Tyler is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
