If the Athens Wildcats were riding high off their 76-55 takedown of the Wyalusing Valley Rams last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Athens was beaten by the Trojans 77-47 on Thursday. Athens was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-25.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Korey Miller, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Connor Mosher was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Athens' loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7. As for Troy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.
Athens will be playing in front of their home fans against the Black Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Towanda is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Troy, they will head out on the road to take on the Green Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
