Gibsonburg dropped their record down to 8-5 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Calvert Senecas by a score of  4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  defeat the Golden Bears have suffered  since April 15, 2024.
 Ava Amor was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with two  doubles and one  RBI.
 Amor wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Emily Henderson, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  run.
As for Calvert, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record  this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.2 runs.
 Like Gibsonburg, Calvert also got a great game from a two-way player:  Ava Eilrich. She  tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off   ten  hits. Eilrich was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with one  run and one  RBI.
 Coincidentally, Gibsonburg and Calvert will both be playing Hopewell-Loudon the next time they take the field. The Golden Bears will head out to face the Chieftains at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday, while the Senecas will  host them  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday.
