After flying high against the Greenwood Rangers on Thursday, the Lubbock Westerners came back down to earth. The matchup between Lubbock and Prestonwood Christian wasn't particularly close, with Lubbock falling 48-32. While losing is never fun, Lubbock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 693rd, while Prestonwood Christian is ranked 102nd).
Londyn Oliphant continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Prestonwood Christian, scoring 14 points along with three steals. The matchup was Oliphant's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Swindell, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Lubbock's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Prestonwood Christian, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.
Lubbock will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Tournament Opponent on Friday. Prestonwood Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lubbock-Cooper at 10:30 a.m. on December 29th. One thing working in Lubbock-Cooper's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
