Trimble took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Federal Hocking with a sharp 14-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Tomcats in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won six in a row.
Jessa Davis was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Daisy Harvey and Olivia Kasler did most of the damage at the plate: Harvey went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Kasler went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Kasler a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Burdette, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Trimble hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Southern posted their closest win since May 2, 2025 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-9 victory over Eastern.
Southern's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Trimble, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Trimble skirted past Southern 7-5 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Will the Tomcats repeat their success, or do the Tornadoes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
