Russell had to settle for second on Friday, but Max Evans sure wasn't going down easily. Evans was unstoppable, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Evans and Russell will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Ellsworth at 4:00 p.m. on the 8th.
