Trinity recap October 22, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Trinity this week, St. John Bosco beat Orange Lutheran 42-24. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Mater Dei took down JSerra Catholic 38-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Justin Allen ran for 312 yards and caught 2 passes for 20 yards in the win.
Servite's dynamic duo of Travis Waller and Equanimeous St. Brown proved to be unstoppable against Santa Margarita, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Waller threw for 146 yards and 2 touchdowns and St. Brown had 89 yards receiving. Tony Brown helped Servite's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 57 yards.
Allen was a force in the backfield as the Monarchs beat the Lions.
Maurice Davison was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Friars defeated the Eagles. He pulled down 2 interceptions.
6-foot-1 quarterback Nick Robinson of JSerra Catholic is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,329. He has also thrown 16 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Kyle Sweet. The Santa Margarita star has 44 catches for 809 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Servite and the Lancers. A.J. Gass' team comes into the matchup ranked 18th in the state, while Orange Lutheran ranks 14th.
St. John Bosco led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Chuck Petersen's team.
