The North Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Wagener-Salley War Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (North has 11 straight victories, the War Eagles have 18 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
North can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. Everything went their way against Ridge Spring-Monetta as North made off with a 68-45 victory. Given North's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Trojans are ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amaveon Calloway led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five assists and five steals. Stetson Stacks was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Wagener-Salley pushed their score all the way to 64 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 77-64 to Blackville-Hilda. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (55), Wagener-Salley still had to take the loss.
North's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for Wagener-Salley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-17.
Everything came up roses for North against the War Eagles in their previous meeting last Thursday as the squad secured a 93-46 victory. With North ahead 46-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
