Basketball Recap: Joseph Perkins and Justin Neal Secure Win for Lathrop

There's no place like home for Lathrop, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They rang in the new year with a 57-44 win over the Pacheco Panthers on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Spartans also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Lathrop was led to victory by Justin Neal and Joseph Perkins. Neal went 6 for 10 on his way to 16 points, while Perkins posted 13 points and five rebounds. Perkins is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Nicolas Arceo was another key player, putting up eight points.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-9. As for Pacheco, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

Lathrop wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-52 win against Grace Davis on the 8th. As for Pacheco, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-37 loss against Central Valley on the 8th.
