The Lewis County Minutemen are taking a road trip to square off against the Grafton Bearcats at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Lewis County will be strutting in after a win while Grafton will be coming in after a defeat.
Lewis County took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Trinity Christian as they made off with a 13-3 victory. The Minutemen not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 10, 2024.
Ryder Aman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Aman was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joel Good, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
Lewis County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity Christian only posted an OBP of .364.
Meanwhile, Grafton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of Parkersburg.
Greyson Ramezan was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was John Gouzd, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Grafton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Lewis County, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
Lewis County came up short against Grafton in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 10-7. Can the Minutemen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
