Delavan-Darien is a perfect 4-0 against East Troy since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Comets will be playing at home against the Trojans at 4:45 p.m. Delavan-Darien's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so East Troy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Delavan-Darien is headed into the match having just suffered their closest loss since April 11, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Edgerton by a score of 6-4.
Jacob Huff made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Chris Elguero, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, East Troy got themselves on the board against Brodhead/Juda on Friday, but Brodhead/Juda never followed suit. They had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 2-0.
Brodhead/Juda's batters probably weren't too happy with Seth Lingford, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 15 Ks (he gave up a single walk).
At the plate, East Troy's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cole Pettijohn, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.
Delavan-Darien's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6-1. As for East Troy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Delavan-Darien has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .439. However, it's not like East Troy struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Delavan-Darien was able to grind out a solid victory over East Troy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 3-0. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
