While Plano's win against Newark wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Reapers had just enough and edged out the Norsemen 5-4 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Reapers in their matchups with the Norsemen: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Jason Phillips, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

Plano's record now sits at 9-18. As for Newark, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plano will head out to face off against Gardner-South Wilmington at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.25 runs per game on average), something the Reapers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Newark, they will square off against St. Bede at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bruins will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Norsemen surely won't give up without a fight.
