Arlington Christian came tearing into Tuesday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 67-58 win over Hills Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arlington Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Davon Aikens, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Aikens hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Chezi Essel, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Arlington Christian pushed their record up to 8-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Hills Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arlington Christian will face off against Cumberland Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hills Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Scholars Guild Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
