Roosevelt never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Edsel Ford Thunderbirds as they made off with a 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Grace Papler and Madison Dufault made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Papler tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Dufault tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Papler has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Papler fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3, while Dufault went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those three hits gave Dufault a new career-high.

In other batting news, Shaylan Gourlay was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Xzaila Ellis, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Roosevelt was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Roosevelt's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Edsel Ford, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will host St. Mary Catholic Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Edsel Ford, they will welcome Trenton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
