After flying high against the Union Hill Bulldogs last Friday, the Sulphur Bluff Bears came back down to earth. Sulphur Bluff fell 55-42 to Saltillo on Friday. Sulphur Bluff has not had much luck with Saltillo recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emma Neal, who scored 16 points along with six steals. Zaylee Peyton was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Sulphur Bluff's defeat dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Saltillo, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-7.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Bloomburg the next time they take the court. Sulphur Bluff will head out to face Bloomburg at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Saltillo will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
