If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Palisade. On Friday they will take on Battle Mountain at 8:00 PM. Palisade know how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Battle Mountain like a good challenge.
Palisade might be getting used to good results now that the squad has four wins in a row. They took the contest and then some with a 49-0 win over Eagle Valley last Friday. Junior Cam Tucker was the offensive standout of the match for Palisade, as he rushed for 72 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tucker has been a consistent playmaker for Palisade as this was the 8th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, Battle Mountain came into their this week averaging 31 points per game, but Battle Mountain fell well short of that average, and it cost them. They were dealt a punishing 3-48 defeat at the hands of Glenwood Springs. Battle Mountain's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
