2A District 6 recap Oct. 9, 2012
First Baptist Academy extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 6 this week by beating Evangelical Christian, 59-14. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
First Baptist Academy led the league in scoring this week after putting up 59 points on the Sentinels. Jonah Bueltel threw for 49 yards, ran for 98 yards and caught three passes for 55 yards in the win.
Corey Todd put up the best numbers through the air as Billy Sparacio's team beat Evangelical Christian. He finished with a total of five completions for 86 yards and one touchdown. Todd's favorite target this week was G.A. De los Reyes, who caught three passes for 58 yards.
Javonte Broughton was the best wideout in the league this week as Moore Haven bested St. Stephen's Episcopal. Broughton tallied three receptions for 81 yards.
On the ground, the Lions' Bueltel has rushed for 781 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Ryan O?rourke. The Neumann star has 13 catches for 344 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Terriers take on Community School of Naples. As it stands, Moore Haven is in second, while the Seahawks are in fourth.
