The Valley Mills Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Frost Polar Bears at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley Mills will be strutting in after a win while Frost will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Valley Mills beat Italy 32-20. The win was just what Valley Mills needed coming off of a 86-45 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Frost unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 61-36 walloping at the hands of Hamilton. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Frost has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, Frost saw an underclassman step up: Brenda Manrriquez scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals. Manrriquez hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynna Banks, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Frost smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hamilton only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Valley Mills is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for Frost, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-5.
Valley Mills was taken down by Frost 50-21 in their previous meeting on January 5th. Can Valley Mills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
