Softball Recap: Schalick Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Schalick had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Gateway Regional on Tuesday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 21-11 margin over the Gators. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Schalick's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Gateway Regional, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Schalick will venture away from home to square off against Overbrook at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gateway Regional, they will face off against Timber Creek Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gators are facing the Chargers at the right time seeing as the Chargers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
